Senate elections outcome

Elections to the University’s Senate have now concluded. New members will take up their roles on 1 August, supporting the successful delivery of the University’s academic mission:

Candidate elections 

The election determined successful candidates in the following categories:  

  • Elected academic staff (non-Professorial) in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences 
  • Elected academic staff (Professorial) in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences 
  • Elected academic staff (non-Professorial) in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine 
  • Elected academic staff (non-Professorial) in the College of Science and Engineering 
  • Elected academic staff (Professorial) in the College of Science and Engineering 

There were fewer nominations than vacancies in the ‘Elected academic staff (Professorial)’ category in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and so all nominees were elected unopposed. 

Next elections 

Vacant academic staff member positions on Senate open for election annually. The next elections will take place in semester 2, 2026. Further information will be shared in advance.
