The University has launched a new Reasonable Adjustments Policy and Managers’ Guidance.
Reasonable Adjustments Policy and Managers’ Guidance
The Reasonable Adjustments Policy is intended to support the University’s commitment to meet its legal duties as defined by the Equality Act 2010, in relation to disabled employees and their right to request reasonable adjustments.
In response, the University has created a policy set to clarify existing pathways for employees to request reasonable adjustments and for managers to implement them correctly – providing details on available support, services and adjustments, and other related policies and guidance.
Our Neuroinclusion Hub is now live!
The University has also launched a new Neuroinclusion Hub to promote a neuroinclusive environment and culture:
University of Edinburgh Neuroinclusion Hub
Federico Marchiolli, HR Partner Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, said:
“This hub offers employees and students across the University resources to have better understanding on how to create inclusive environments where everyone can fully engage, contribute, and be truly valued not in spite of, but because of their diversity of thought – ultimately, contributing in fostering good relations.”
“The hub is for staff and students who want to learn more about neurodiversity, and know how they can support all in our community to be comfortable, confident and successful in their environment. Supporting an improved understanding of neurodiversity, and building better work and classroom environments, will contribute to embedding neuroinclusive approaches across the University.”
“We hope this will serve as a convenient one-stop-shop for all your needs. The page will continue to evolve as our support and offerings change, and as we receive feedback from our communities.”
