Edinburgh Historic Walks is a collaborative initiative, funded by Student Partnership Agreement small project funding, aiming to develop a stronger community between staff and students.
Led by final year history student Katherine Scott, the project involves monthly walking tours which combine physical activity with education and engagement.
Participants learn about Edinburgh’s vast history, in particular stories which are often left untold and relate to individuals from marginalised and underrepresented backgrounds.
The monthly walks are open to all staff and students, with each one showcasing a different topic and area of Edinburgh. They run until July.
Upcoming locations are advertised on the Teams channel and MyEd Events Booking.
Physical badges are also offered to people who complete the walks, along with leaflets summarising the histories discussed.
