ENGAGE Network semester two workshops open for booking.
IAD’s Edinburgh Network: Growing Approaches to Genuine Engagement (ENGAGE) aims to bring together University of Edinburgh students and staff interested in creating genuine and meaningful interactions focused on learning, teaching and assessment. Meetings support the sharing of ideas, research and practice, and offer space for discussion and collegial support. Any staff or students interested in enhancing student engagement in learning and teaching are welcome to come along.
We have an exciting series of workshops with guest speakers planned:
Friday 28 February, 10am-11am, online – Engaging students with assessment and feedback: a case study in 3D chess from Heriot-Watt University, Dr Andrew MacLaren, Associate Professor of Team Communication, Heriot Watt University.
Wednesday 12 March, 2.30pm-3.30pm, in person – An introduction to engaging students with art collections and object-based learning, Liv Laumenech, Assistant Art Collections Curator, Heritage Collections.
Thursday 24 April, 10am-11am, online – Engaging students with interdisciplinary learning, Professor Velda McCune, Head of IAD’s Learning and Teaching Team and IAD Deputy Director.
Tuesday 6 May, 4pm-5pm, online – Students’ use and acceptance of generative AI: lessons learned from a PTAS project, Dr Jordana Viotto, Lecturer in Entrepreneurship; Dr Susan Dunnett, Personal Chair of Consumer Culture and Society; Professor Raluca Bunduchi, Personal Chair of Innovation; Dr Kasia Banas, Undergraduate Talent Lead and Programme Co-Director for the DDI Health and Social Care programme and Naomi Sleator, University of Edinburgh alumnus.
