The University was an early signatory to this commitment and in order to support it, an updated action plan was published earlier this year.
This new plan, approved by the Principal, builds on the success of previous plans, and takes an ambitious approach to addressing key challenges raised by the University’s technical community:

It also supports delivery of the University’s Strategy 2030, aligning to other initiatives including the Research Cultures Action Plan, the Researcher Concordat and Environmental Sustainability Concordat.
Sally Morgan, the University’s Technician Steering Committee Chair, says:
“The Technician Steering Committee presented this updated plan at the recent Research Support Services Conference and since then we’ve received some great feedback and engagement.
“In early 2025, there will be introductory talks about it across all the University’s campuses. I’d encourage everyone from across our community (technicians and non-technicians) to come along to find out more and learn how to get involved.”
