New AI Adoption hub launches for staff

Reading time: 2 minutes
A new online hub has launched to help staff explore what artificial intelligence (AI) means for our work at the University, from teaching and learning to our day-to-day operations.

The AI Adoption Task Force, working with Communications and Marketing, has created the hub as part of wider University work to navigate the opportunities and challenges emerging from rapid advances in AI.

It aims to bring colleagues across the University together to explore this new technology and what it means for our work, from teaching assessments to day-to-day operations and services. It includes a SharePoint site with information and guidance, and a related Teams community where staff can share their expertise, ideas and concerns.

The AI Adoption Task Force will oversee work on protecting the integrity of academic assessment, cataloguing AI adoption projects across the University, and exploring how we regulate and govern the use of AI tools.

The Task Force’s work complements our Research & Innovation Strategy focus on marshalling cutting-edge data, digital and AI technologies to unlock solutions to environmental, social and economic challenges.

Michael Rovatsos, Professor of Artificial Intelligence and chair of the AI Adoption Task Force, said:

“Over the coming academic year, our work with colleagues across the University will help us collectively shape our strategy for how we want to use AI at the University in the longer term.

“Whatever your role, if you’re wondering what AI means for your work or have started to explore it, please visit our hub.

“It’s open to all staff as a place to share your ideas, insights and questions with a community of experts and curious minds from across the University.”
