All-staff meetings

Reading time: 3 minutes
This semester, members of the Senior Leadership Team are holding all-staff town hall meetings at various campus locations.

These meetings provide an opportunity for staff to speak with members of the senior team one-on-one, hear more about current priorities for the University, and ask any questions you might have.

Two meetings have already been held this month at King’s Buildings campus and the BioQuarter, with one of the meetings being streamed live for staff to also join online. Over 560 staff members have already attended one of the meetings. Thank you to everyone who has joined a session and contributed to the discussions.

Progress towards Strategy 2030

The meetings in this semester focus on the theme of ‘Strategy 2030’. Strategy 2030 was launched in September 2019 setting out our aims for the next ten years across four key themes: People, Research, Learning and Teaching, and Social and Civic Responsibility.

Today we find ourselves operating within a different environment than when the strategy was first launched, following Brexit and a global pandemic. The higher education sector is also facing more pressing financial challenges, and we need to respond to these challenges and adapt accordingly to best position ourselves for the future. This context means that now more than ever, we must focus on delivery of our strategic aims and use these to drive our priorities and decision-making.

We want all staff to feel empowered to play a role in delivery of the strategy, so these meetings are an opportunity to hear more about our collective progress and priority areas for this academic year and beyond.

Book to join online

The final meeting for this semester will take place at Central campus on Tuesday 19 November. Following feedback from the hybrid meeting held earlier this month, and due to popular demand from staff who were not able to book a space at this meeting, we have decided to extend bookings to also enable staff to attend online. If you were not able to book a space in person but would still like to join this session, you can now book to view the meeting online.

Book to join online

If you have already booked a place at the meeting and would now prefer to join online instead of in person, please cancel your original booking and book online to receive the joining details. This will help to free up spaces in the room so that others on the waiting list are able to join.

Submit your questions in advance

Don’t forget, attendees at the meeting can submit a question for the Senior Leadership Team in advance.

Submit a question

Please note that those joining the session online will not be able to ask questions anonymously. If you would like to submit an anonymous question, please do so by submitting your question in advance using the form above.

Pre-submitted questions should be submitted before 5pm on Friday 8 November.

Following the meetings

These meetings are not your only opportunity to speak to members of the Senior Leadership Team. If you are not able to attend or if we are not able to cover all your questions at the meeting, please do get in touch with relevant senior leaders directly.

Key themes discussed at the meetings are being collated and will be provided as a summary for all staff following the final meeting. We will also publish recordings from the hybrid meetings for those who were not able to join on the day.
