To help ensure that everyone is kept informed of current best practice, information security awareness training is available for staff, students and visitors.
Staff are able to access their online training course via People and Money. This should be completed every two years, and the People and Money system will tell you if you are up-to-date. Visitors and contractors have an online module available which should be undertaken when they first use University services, and every two years thereafter.
Students also have an online training course as part of their “Essentials” courses in Learn Ultra, which focuses on personal safety in a digital world for undergraduates and postgraduate taught students, and is similar to the staff course for postgraduate research students.

Digital Skills
The Information Security team also holds regular online training sessions as part of the Digital Skills programme. These cover topics such as ‘How hackers hack’ and ‘Mobile phone security’. More details are available below:
