Warning about scam emails

The University has been made aware of a recent increase in scam activity in the form of attempts to steal financial and personal information from students.

Students, and the staff who support them, should note that University emails will only ever be sent from addresses ending in ed.ac.uk so thorough checking of the sender’s email address is strongly encouraged.

If your students think they have received a scam email, the best way to report it is to forward it, as an attachment, and send it to the IS Helpline:
