University’s first Digital Research Conference

The University’s first Digital Research Conference will take place next year, bringing together researchers and professional staff supporting digital, data-intensive, and computational research.

The event, which will be held on 29 January 2025, aims to promote best practice and inspire, encourage collaborations, and stimulate discussion across schools, colleges and professional services on a broad range of digital research-related topics.

Conference sessions

Academic and professional staff at the University are encouraged to propose sessions (paper session, lightning talk or workshop) addressing the themes below:

  • Understanding AI and future directions of Digital Research
  • Dealing with Sensitive Research Data
  • Digital Research Planning and Infrastructure for data transfer, storage, analysis, collaboration, sharing and preservation
  • Digital Research Careers and Recognition
  • Advancing Digital Research Skills and Training
  • Building Digital Research Communities and External Collaborations
  • Information Security and Data Protection

Session proposal form

The call for sessions closes on 14 April 2024 and session leads will be notified by 15 May 2024.

In addition to the conference sessions, there will be a call for papers. These are open to all members of the University community, academics, PGRs, IT and staff supporting and enabling research. Papers will be published in peer-reviewed conference proceedings. The call for papers will open by the end of May until July 2024.
