Festive celebrations at the University

Reading time: < 1 minute

Winter festivities have already started across the University.

Christmas Tree Lighting

The Christmas tree lights were officially turned on in Old College Quad on 20 November. Attendees enjoyed mulled wine, festive treats, singing by the University Choir, and music from the Salvation Army Band.

Christmas Carol Service

The University’s Carol Service will take place at McEwan Hall at 6pm. Doors will open at 5.15pm and attendees are advised to arrive early and book tickets in advance due to the event’s popularity.

The Service will be led by the University Chaplaincy, which provides pastoral and spiritual support for students and staff of all faiths and none.

Carols and music will be provided by the Edinburgh University Singers, the Edinburgh University Renaissance Singers, and the Salvation Army Edinburgh City Corps Band.
