Staff from the University’s wellbeing services have been celebrated at a recent event.

The Chaplaincy, the Disability and Learning Support Service, Counselling Services, the Equally Safe Team and the Student Wellbeing Service were all thanked for playing a vital role in maintaining positive mental health and wellbeing for both students and staff. Colleagues from Residence Life were also present.

During the event on 6 October, speeches were made to acknowledge the hard work behind the scenes of these vital services, used by more than 400 staff and more than 10,000 students each year. Among the speakers was Andy Shanks, the Director of Student Wellbeing, who was recently elected as an Executive Member of AMOSSHE for the 2023-24 term. AMOSSHE is a professional membership association that supports leaders of student services in UK higher education.
