Prescribe Culture, the University’s social care and wellbeing initiative, has launched a new programme for 2023/24.

The scheme was launched in 2018 and made the University one of the first institutions in the world to have social prescribing on campus.

This academic year, in addition to Programme 6 and Prescribe Culture Gatherings, a new co-designed programme, ‘Settling in with the Past’, is available by referral and self-referral.

There will also be a number of one-off support events, the first of which is a free support course, in collaboration with the Scottish Book Trust, for any student or staff member caring for someone with dementia. The course consists of two half days and will run twice in November with the option to attend in person or online.

  • In-person – St Cecilia’s Hall – Tuesday 14 November and Thursday 16 November from 1.30pm to 4.30pm (with breaks)
  • Online – Tuesday 21 November and Thursday 23 Nov from 9am to 12pm (with breaks)
