1. Industrial action update
The University made a commitment to keep staff informed about the current industrial action and has regularly updated staff and students over recent months. The most recent staff email from the Principal, on 11 July, confirmed that exploratory talks resumed on Friday 14 July. Any further developments will be communicated to staff in due course. 2. National pay negotiations
Last week, the University emailed all staff with a reminder about this year’s national pay negotiations. In March, staff were informed of details of a pay increase that all staff would receive in March pay, followed by a second increase in August. The increase applies to all UK-based staff and details of the negotiations and the increase can be found in the email update below. You can also find the University’s new pay scales that come into effect in August online.
3. Updates to employment policies
In July, the University launched a new Hybrid Workplace Policy and a revised Flexible Working Policy. These policies respond to new ways of working which emerged during the pandemic and provide consistent guidelines and expectations across the University.
