Top updates from across the University.

1. People and Money all-staff session

Our senior leadership team is planning a staff engagement session to keep you up to date with progress on People and Money.

Senior leaders will update provide an update on the steps being taken to address any ongoing issues, and answer questions from staff. Further details, including how to sign up, will be circulated to staff.

2. Holiday allowance increased for 2023

All staff will be given an additional day of annual leave in 2023 to reflect the additional UK bank holiday on Monday 8 May for King Charles III’s coronation. You don’t need to take this additional leave on the day of the bank holiday itself, 8 May 2023, and can request to use it at any point during the annual leave year.

The equivalent of an additional day’s leave will automatically be added to your 2023 entitlement in People and Money. This will be pro-rated if you work part time, joined the University after 1 January 2023 or leave before 31 December 2023.

You should request the time off in the normal way, including if you wish to be off on the official bank holiday. If you are employed on a guaranteed minimum hours contract, your additional holiday allowance percentage will be increased for the year 2023 only, to represent this additional leave.

In line with our general policy on public and bank holidays, the University will remain open on Monday 8 May.
