Cathy Abbott, Professor of Mammalian Molecular Genetics in the Institute of Genetics and Cancer, has been elected as Trustee of Research Policy on the British Neuroscience Association Council. The British Neuroscience Association is a UK-wide organisation which represents neuroscientists and promotes neuroscience.

Jorge Peñarrubia, Personal Chair of Gravitational Dynamics in the School of Physics & Astronomy, has joined the Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales de España (Royal Academy of Sciences of Spain) in recognition of his research on the nature of dark matter.

Susan Rosser, Professor of Synthetic Biology in the School of Biological Sciences, has been elected as a Fellow to the Learned Society of Wales. Professor Rosser is one of 66 new fellows from across academic and civic life in Wales and beyond. The Learned Society of Wales is the national academy for arts and sciences.

Shannon Vallor, Baillie Gifford Chair in the Ethics of Data and Artificial Intelligence at the Edinburgh Futures Institute, has received the 2022 Covey Award from the International Association of Computing and Philosophy for her significant contribution to the field, both in academic as well as public spheres.
