Sport & Exercise are delighted to be organising this year’s University Dance Performance, which is back in person at the Assembly Roxy Theatre on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 February.

This is an opportunity for our student dance groups and societies to perform a wonderful variety of dances from all over the world. There’s dances from Edinburgh Bhangra, Edinburgh University Salsa Society, New Scotland Country Dance Society and South Asian Students Association to name but a few. There will be over 20 different styles of dance represented in total – truly something for everybody

The Dance Performance has been entertaining audiences for 37 years, with last year’s show presented online. Even though our student dance societies could not perform in person, they were determined to put on a show from their homes for all to enjoy – which they did an amazing job of during such a difficult time. “Dance is meant to be a shared experience whether performing or watching so we are looking forward to showcasing our diverse range of dance styles creating an uplifting and inspiring night out. Following last year’s online Dance showcase. I am so delighted to bring the 37th annual Edinburgh University Dance Performance in person this year and to welcome back our audience with Covid-19 protocols in place to keep everyone safe,” said June Underwood, Senior Teaching Assistant at Sport Exercise and the Artistic Director of the Dance Performance.

Tickets can be purchased online.
