Top updates from across the University.
1. Industrial action
As you will know, up to ten days of strike action will take place on the following dates:
- Seven full days from Monday 14 to Tuesday 22 February inclusive
- Three full days from Monday 28 February to Wednesday 2 March inclusive
Staff who participate in strike action or refuse to cross the picket lines on some or all of these dates are required to notify the University that they have taken part in strike action by 12pm on Monday 7 March at the latest. Details of how to do this can be found on SharePoint.
2. Sharing in our Success 2022
The staff contribution awards will soon be open for nominations. Having secured additional funding this year, the awards aim to recognise the contribution and efforts of more staff than normal. Managers can nominate individual staff or whole teams, or individual staff and teams can nominate themselves and line managers will be asked to endorse these nominations prior to submission by heads of school or directors of professional service teams.
More information can be found on the Reward SharePoint.
3. Senate elections
Nominations are now open for new members to join the Senate, which is the University’s supreme academic body. Its role includes overseeing the learning, teaching and discipline of the University, while helping to promote our research.
This election is a key opportunity for any member of the academic staff community to become part of this important University forum for consultation on academic matters.
