LGBT+ History Month

Reading time: < 1 minute
February marks the start of LGBT+ History Month, which serves as a reminder to remember and celebrate the history of the LGBT+ movement, not just for one month, but for every day of the year. The University’s Staff Pride Network (SPN) is a vital part of our community, supporting and celebrating our LBGT+ staff and students alike.

The Progress Flag was designed in 2018 and has been adopted by the LGBTQ community to demonstrate inclusion of minority groups. In addition to the rainbow pride stripes, there are five arrow shaped lines to represent inclusion of people of colour and trans people.

This month will also see the Progress Flag be flown for the first time over Old College.

The SPN have put together a range of events throughout February, which are open to everyone.

The team will be updating their blog with a list of events, so for more information, visit the Staff Pride Network website.
