Two members of the University community have been recognised in the Queen’s New Year Honours list 2022.
The honours system recognises people who have made achievements in public life and committed themselves to serving and helping the UK.
Covid contribution
Professor John Forsythe, NHS Blood and Transplant’s outgoing Medical Director for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to organ donation and transplantation. The award also highlights his contribution to the response to the Covid pandemic.
Environment and charity
Sandra Kinnear, Health, Safety and Sustainability Advisor, within the University’s Accommodation, Catering and Events team, has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the environment and to charity.
