Changes within SRA and Edinburgh Global

The teams in Student Recruitment & Admissions (SRA) and Edinburgh Global underwent an organisational change during the summer.

The University has adopted a more integrated approach to student recruitment, bringing all domestic and international recruitment together within SRA.

The change means 15 regional recruitment staff have relocated from Edinburgh Global to SRA. The reshaped international recruitment team, led by Head of International Recruitment Robbie Willis, incorporates EU recruitment, and now sits alongside the undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment teams within SRA.

Together, these three teams now form an integrated single service focused on supporting the University’s strategic enrolment priorities.

Robbie Willis explains: “The formation of an International Recruitment Team in SRA brings together all the central student recruitment activity for undergraduate, postgraduate, UK and overseas in one service. This will provide a clear point of contact for colleagues around the University and for prospective applicants and their advisors.

“Collecting all the central student recruitment activity within SRA will allow the International Recruitment Team to work across SRA and maximise the impact of our activities in relation to events, digital tools, communications, admissions and the global access agenda.”

Rebecca Gaukroger, Director of Student Recruitment & Admissions, said: “By coming together in this way, we are establishing a clear and visible locus for student recruitment services at the University; a ‘one stop shop’ bringing benefits to internal colleagues by making it easier to work with us, and enabling us to offer services to prospective students on the basis of their needs, rather than our structures.”

Management of the University’s regional centres, and the associated regional directors, managers and other staff, remains within Edinburgh Global.
