Each fortnight bulletin highlights and celebrates the latest prizes awarded to our fellow staff members. Congratulations to all involved.

Dr Cordelia Beattie, Senior Lecturer in History in the School of History, Classics & Archaeology, and Dr Suzanne Trill Senior Lecturer in English Literature in the School of Literatures, Languages & Cultures, have secured Art and Humanities Research Council funding to conduct a £1 million research project into the autobiographical writings of Alice Thornton (1626-1707) and create a digital edition, accessible to researchers and the public. The three-year research project will be carried out in partnership with Durham Cathedral.

Patrick Meir, Visiting Professor of Ecosystem Science in the School of GeoSciences, has been awarded a Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship. This award recognises those whose work encourages the use of science to benefit humanity. Professor Meir is one of three leading researchers recognised with this fellowship this year.
