Tracey Slaven, currently Deputy Secretary, Strategic Planning, is leaving the University to take up a new role as the University of Aberdeen’s University Secretary and Chief Operating Officer.

During her time at Edinburgh Tracey has been responsible for a broad portfolio including Court Services, Strategic & Business Planning, Student Recruitment & Admissions, Widening Participation and Data Protection & Freedom of Information – as well as co-ordination of the submission to REF2021.

While I know we will all miss Tracey – who has made such a great contribution to our University in her time here – I am delighted, for her, that she has been selected for this role and wish her all the very best for the future.

Sarah Smith, Vice-Principal Strategic Change and Governance, and University Secretary

Tracey will begin her new position with Aberdeen in January next year and will be missed greatly by the University community.
